Autumn Splendor

Fall is here and it's going to be wonderful. Fall cards and wishes have been mailed to my family and again I forgot to take a picture before mailing. But with the aid of a smartphone I got my son to send this picture of his card. Thank you for being at my rescue and for being such an awesome son!

I enjoy using strips of leftover paper trimmings and basket weaving them together. I die cut the leaves, distressed them, splattered them with ink and popped them up on top of gold and blue thread. The fall die-cut was made by cutting out the letters I needed from multiple cuttings of a never used (till now) Christmas word die "falala".  By cutting away the last two a's reattaching the "l", stacking several cut outs and glueing them all together, I made a thick-it "fall" to pop onto my card. The pieced together word is not even noticeable. Now you know and look closely, you may be able to tell.... it's a money saving trick.

For a GOTHy girls birthday

I love to match my cards to the recipients' personality and hobbies. This gothy card was a new challenge for me but it is so perfect for my September girls' birthday.

The red blossom and red mat gave what started out as a monochromal card a pop of color. Then I added candles to the base, birthday cards and goth girls need candles. The black flower lace was added to the border to tie in with the pinstripe paper and black mat. I also fussy cut the lace blossoms from the lace and added to goth girl's basket. As I am posting I notice that the papers are reflective to the camera flash, they coordinated nicely without a flash. Note to self: work on pic skills before mailing the card...lol.

Read any good books lately? Frilly and Funkie Challenge

I weaved the background on kraft cardstock and embellished with wooden die cuts, book pages and gold accents. These are very shinny gold pieces and made photographing difficult. I like the end results for entry into Frilly and Funkie challenge.

Making background paper two ways, click on the picture to enlarge and see details.

The sun shining on the background paper is stamped only a shade darker yellow. I fussy cut the cute images and popped them up to give dimension to this simple card.

This backgrounds flower image is created by brushing your stamp with glue and stamp glue image all over white cardstock. I sprinkled gilding flakes over it, pressed in well then brushed off. Distressing with blue helped bring out the shiny floral background.

Mother's Day to my Mom

Stamp CTMH stamp of the month set #S1601 with CTMH dye ink in well re-inked color Tulip.
Even though this color is retired, it's still a favorite of mine. I used MISTI to get the vivid color by restamping several times on the flowers and stems. I stamped again in black to pop the colors.

Photographing this card with the gold shiny paper cause a glare no matter how I took this set which includes a pop-up stand street light and coordination envelope I also made.

I hope you all had a happy Mom's day and thank you for stopping by my blog.

Gold embossing, metal charms and twine embellish the metallic watercolor splash across this Autumn panel. I popped it up onto an embossed cardstock of coordinating colors and gold tones.
